LOCATION

The Bahamas is a country made up of 700 islands, cays and islets in the Atlantic Ocean.

It´s north of Cuba and Dominican Republic, northwestern Turks and Caicos Islands, southeast of the American State of Florida and east of the Florida Keys.

The capital Nassau is located on the New Providence Island.

WEATHER

The Bahamas has a Subtropical climate between tropical and moderated by the influence of the waters of the Gulf Stream, particularly in winter.

In these islands there are hurricanes from late summer to late autumn.

FLAG

The color´s flag represents:

       Blue or Turquoise: The Bahamas´s sea.

       Yellow: The golden sands of the archipelago.

       Black triangle: Represents the Bahamian people.

 

CURRENCY AND NACIONALITY

The nationality of the persons born in the Bahamas is Bahamians. The currency is the Bahamian dollar.

·         PINK SAND BEACH

The beautiful Pink Sand Beach was named because sand´s pink color. There are a lot red corals. The best times to take pictures are early morning or late afternoon. Arrives at this beach by air or by water.

·         PARADISE ISLAND

In Paradise Island, Nassau on the Atlantis Hotel there is a big aquarium like the lost Atlantida city.

There are fishes and sharks.

·         ELEUTHERA ISLAND

It´s to 96 kilometer of Nassau, 177 kilometer of extension. It´s an island of corals and sand formed by wind and waves.

TYPICAL PLATES

The conch, pronounced konk, is a type of mollusk that has firm and white flesh. Is delicious and eaten fresh and uncooked.

Rock Lobster, one of species of lobster that can be fished in the clear waters of the beaches of the Bahamas, you can eat cooked with salad.
